- The Energy Market Authority (EMA) is establishing an Advisory Panel on Energy Supply Resiliency, which will help to identify strategies to improve the reliability of Singapore's fuel supply and energy system.
Resilience of the Power Sector
- The resilience of the power sector is critical, especially in times of increasing uncertainties. As Singapore imports almost all of our energy needs, we are vulnerable to global disruptions. Safeguarding the nation's power supply is crucial to ensuring the well-being of Singaporeans, sustaining economic growth, and driving technological advancements.
- The Energy Supply Resilience Advisory Panel will advise EMA on strengthening the resilience of Singapore's energy system. It will examine and recommend strategies to mitigate potential disruptions and uncertainties across the energy supply chain, including upstream sources and domestic generation facilities. The panel will take into consideration system interdependencies, as well as trade-offs that may be required to balance resilience, sustainability, and competitiveness.
