Consumers who use town gas are charged a gas tariff rate, which is determined by City Energy based on guidelines set by EMA.
The gas tariff comprises two key component – fuel cost and non-fuel cost.
The fuel cost component for each quarter is calculated every quarter using the average of the daily High Sulfur Fuel Oil (HSFO) and naphtha prices in the first two-and-a-half month period of the previous quarter. For example, the average HSFO and naptha prices between April and June will determine the tariff for July to September.
The non-fuel component consists of costs incurred by City Energy as a town gas producer.
